I think my good friend Alvin at The 270said it best, Startup Weekend is coming to Columbus!
For the 350 of you that have voted, Startup Weekend Columbus, SWC (www.startupweekend.com) will be happening! Startup Weekend brings together the top tech minds and innovative entrepreneurs in the area to create a business in less then 56 hours, a weekend. The date for this event is July 18-20, 2008 at www.techcolumbus.org.
The weekend will kick off at 6pm Friday night. At that time, SWC CEO Ray Angel will run us through the agenda, and shortly after will open up the doors to give your best elevator pitch for your ideas to be voted on. You will have 1 minute to pitch, and there will be a timer running!

We are looking to make SW history in Columbus and put both the “315 Technology Corridor” (affectionately known as “Electric Avenue”) and Columbus on the map for technology!
It has been great to work with the following people in preparing for this great event.
Chris Anderson, Tech Columbus (Site host and all around great group of people!)
Ashley Routson, event emcee,
Tim Eby, WOSU
Jamie Chabra, Columbus Chamber of Commerce
And there is one other guy from the U of M who I am forgetting to mention, what is his name?!?!?
Oh yeah, I remember Alvin Borromeo, that guy over at The 270!
Thank you all again for voting for Columbus to make this happen!

LOL. Even though I’m a Michigan grad, I’m a Columbus native and love to see great things happen for Columbus. Except for one week in November.
